FBM Foundation helps 2,000 Filipinos in Cavite with relief operation

Faced with an emergency as this, FBM Foundation, known for its swift and compassionate response to those in need, arrived on the scene to provide support under the Bayanihan para sa Kababayan program. Learn all about this operation on this article.

Fire incident in Cavite leaves hundreds displaced

On April 26th, a level three fire alarm rang out in a residential area in Barangay 22A, Quadra, Cavite City, forcing 700 families or 2,000 individuals to evacuate their homes and move to a safe place.

Whenever a fire incident takes place, quick responses must be met in order to minimize the side-effects of these natural disasters. This time it was no different for Filipino populations.

A safe and immediate evacuation

The residents impacted by the fire incident were relocated to Ladislao Diwa Elementary School, where the Cavite Government and other organizations began to provide basic necessities.

Mattresses, fans, slippers, water, blankets, clothes, and hot meals were offered to these families. The Philippine Red Cross also deployed their team to provide first aid support, further easing the burden on the affected families.

Distribution of essential goods

The City Mayor's office identified food and hygiene kits as the main needs of the evacuees, as they are expected to stay for 15 to 20 days. The school, which has a total of 80 usable rooms, is currently housing 25 people or 5 families per room.

FBM Foundation, through the help of 8 volunteers, immediately stepped up to assist the affected families by distributing rice, canned goods, instant noodles, shampoo, soap, and toothpaste on May 2nd.

Following their distribution of essential supplies, these volunteers visited the affected area to assess the damage and extend their support to the impacted families.

Despite the visible remnants of the fire, the community's resilience shone through, as some residents have already begun rebuilding their homes while others worked tirelessly to clean up the debris. Witnessing their tenacity and determination, FBM Foundation's presence and assistance played a critical role in supporting their recovery efforts.

About the Bayanihan Para sa Kababayan program

FBM Foundation's swift and efficient response demonstrates the Bayanihan Filipino tradition, which is all about supporting and helping our Kababayan during challenging times.

“Bayanihan is all about caring. This action really embodies everything we wanted to implement this year. The true concern for those in need, leaving a positive impact on the affected families during a difficult time”, expresses Vitor Francisco, Director of FBM Foundation.

The Bayanihan para sa Kababayan program has six activities scheduled for this year. Initiatives like the ones promoted in this project are wilfully structured to help challenged Filipinos with their needs and take a lead to uplift their spirits by providing them assistance and care, without expecting something in return.

To make a big impact in the Filipino communities is the goal

Through its efforts, FBM Foundation has proven that even the smallest act of kindness can have a significant impact on people's lives. As the foundation continues to serve communities in need, its legacy of kindness and generosity can inspire others to follow in their footsteps and make a difference in the world.
